Gary Farrell wine review Hot

Gary Farrell Chardonnay, Russian River Selection 2006

The story: Gary Farrell Winery is a lovely little property perched on a hillside overlooking Sonoma's Russian River Valley. Winemaker Susan Reed and her team harvested the grapes in the fall of 2006, and the wine was barrell fermented in 100% French oak. They produced 4,653 cases.

What it tastes like: Gary Farrell has long been one of our favorite producers, and this wine doesn't not disappoint. In fact, it shines. It's not oaky or excessively buttery, instead there is abundance of citrus flavor accented with some butterscotchand vanilla pudding flavor. Yum!

What to serve it with: Shellfish

Song pairing: The new U2 album... cuz I'm digging it.

The price: $34

Imbiber rating: 90
