His critically acclaimed semi-fictional memoir, "Nobody Likes a Quitter (and other reasons to avoid rehab)" was published in November 2007 by Running Press.
Dan is a former staff writer for the Emmy-nominated TV show “Talk Soup” and freelance joke contributor for SNL’s “Weekend Update.” Dan’s dark comedic feature screenplay, “Exes,” was also optioned in 2005 and proceeded to go nowhere. He is an award-winning humorist and film critic, as well and editor-at-large for Mountain Gazette, the Aspen Daily News and the Santa Monica Daily Press. A protégé of the late Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, Dan’s work has appeared in numerous high-profile publications including GQ, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, LA Style, Entertainment Weekly, and Aspen Magazine. In 2002, he was commissioned by Warner Bros. to pen a web journal called “The Funhog,” portions of which have appeared over the years in newspapers and magazines worldwide.
Dan lives in Santa Monica, CA, with his many doubts and insecurities. He is survived by his girlfriend, mother, dad, three brothers and two sisters … which would be true if he were dead.
