Can’t Get Us Enough of Corey Hart

(Note: TheImbiber.net recently posted the words to Corey Hart’s immortal track “Sunglasses at Night” as part of our series “Song Lyrics that Suck Something Awesome.” In the wake of that posting, we received the following note and photos from loyal reader Jon Burk)

“Here are photos of Yours Truly with Corey Hart a whopping 21 years ago. These photos were shot on Corey's first visit to Philadelphia. The first photo (top) is of Corey with Kal Rudman at the offices of FMQB, the venerable music tip sheet located in Marlton NJ. Kal was always feted by music artists coming into the Philly market, as he was celebrated for being able to pick the hit singles from albums. It was important that artists kissed his ring.

The second shot (bottom) is Corey Hart at his pre-concert party at the Waterford Inn across the street from the legendary Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA. It's a group shot that includes my then girlfriend, Carolyn Swigart, and the rest of the local EMI Records staff which I had just recently joined as a college rep. Corey played a sold-out show to 1200 screaming teenage girls that night. I brought Corey down to 10th street in South Philly for his first ever cheese steak at Shank & Evelyn's. Gave me great pleasure to offer some cheese to the guy that wrote some of the cheesiest lyrics ever!”
