Do Me a Dubonnet Tonight!

As a young lad coming of age in the late 70s/early 80s, your Imbiber harbored a major crush on one Ms. Pia Zadora. Film buffs may recall Zadora being the only actress in Hollywood history to receive both a Golden Globe and a Razzie for the same performance (in the 1982 incest-fest, “Butterfly”) but my fondest memories are of Pia’s stellar work as the ad girl for Dubonnet Rouge Aperitif Wine. “Do me a Dubonnet tonight” was the ubiquitous slogan, but being, like, 8-years-old at the time I had no idea what that meant. So I asked some of the older kids who used to hang out on the corner about it and they promptly beat the living crap out of me.
