TASTE OF SONOMA COUNTY

Imbiber trekked to Healdsburg in Northern California
last weekend for the annual Taste of Sonoma County
Festival and to check in with some of the area’s
notable winemakers. Started things off with a
delicious meal at celebrated chef Charlie Palmer’s
Dry Creek Kitchen, where about 200 people were on
hand to fete Gary Farrell on the occasion of his
25th
year
in the vino biz. Farrell’s winery produces some of
the finest pinot noir and chardonnay in the Russian
River Valley, and your hard-working heralder of
hootch was particularly wowed by his 2004 pinot from
the Rochioli-Allen vineyards ($42).
